There are a few events that my family has been planning and waiting for for several years. We've dreamed, imagined and hoped they'd happen. And? They all did. In ONE week.
Both kids were in ballet class this year! It was Lulu's 3rd year and Abram's first! They both loved it! Their recital was the day after Lulu's last day of Kindergarten and, as you can tell by the second picture, they were both pretty tired by the second evening! I'm so proud of both of them, especially Abram as this was his first organized activity and he was (no surprise) the only boy in his class.
We celebrated Father's day (not all of us willingly....) in the midst of the busyness! I'm so grateful for Austin and the wonderful father that he is to our kids, especially this past year when things have been so crazy! I don't know how he's been able to juggle everything!
In preparation for our move, the kids and I made a HUGE Costco trip. As I was hauling my giant full cart out to the car I suddenly realized it might not all fit - wrong! It was no problem! We were fortunate enough to be able to use a 2018 Toyota Highlander for the week! It was amazing - easily fit all five of us (three in carseats) and still had TONS of room for cargo!
On Monday we finally got the keys to our new house! It feels like closing took so long and now it's finally ours!
We owned the house for almost a full hour before we started pulling floors out and getting to work! We don't waste time!
Another big event of the week: Austin graduated!! After 2.5 loooong years, he's finally done! We're so happy and proud! Even Felix was excited to cheer for him! As an added bonus, Austin received the certificate of merit for his program and graduated with a 3.89 GPA!
We're so excited for him to have more free time and more time at home! And just in time too, as we have LOTS of work to do at our new house!
We've been putting in long hours at the new house, while still sleeping at our current place. It's a 45 minute drive, so the kids and I get up at around 6:30am and head straight there. Austin joins us after work and then we all head home at around 9pm. It's exhausting for everyone!
This is pretty much what it looks like every time we arrive home. It's been so nice to use the Highlander, it's amazing on gas and so smooth to drive!
We celebrated Felix's first birthday! I can't believe he's one already, but it many ways, it's hard to believe it's only been a year! I can't imagine our family without him!
We took the evening off from home projects and enjoyed the sunset. We're so excited to live less than a mile from the water!
Austin and I also celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary, we hosted an open house, visited with family from out of town and made more trips to Home Depot than I can count!
It was definitely a BIG week and I think it'll take a month to recover from it, haha! We're slowly working on all kinds of projects in our new house! I'll save that for its own post!
Thanks Toyota for letting us use a 2018 Toyota Highlander for the week! We were all impressed with how well it kept up with all of our adventures!
